Game Day Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Before you judge me for doing a copy-cat recipe from Hooters chicken, just try it! Don't get me wrong, I don't condone booty shorts and shirts 3 sizes too small and cleavage, but I know good chicken when I taste it. And, I've always LOVED Hooters Chicken Sandwich.

Years ago when they first came out with their sauce in the grocery story, I was stoked to be able to make them from home. However, I stepped it up a notch. I've added Frank's Hot Sauce to the mix- because it's simple not a buffalo chicken sandwich without Franks- sorry, not sorry.

Whether you take this sandwich loaded or just a little butter, it's delicious and you can now even by the Hooter's chicken batter in a bag- which is a win for me because I love making my life a little easier!

This Hooter's copy cat recipe is so delicious it will have all your guests raving about your game day snacks!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt, divided

  • 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper, divided

  • 1 cup hot sauce, Frank's RedHot recommended

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon cold water

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

  • Hooters Chicken Wing Breading

  • slider buns or buns of choice (I recommend Brioche)

  • butter for buns

Shop all ingredients in our Amazon Pantry!

Instructions

  • Preheat fryer to 350°.

  • Clean and cut chicken to size of buns. Toss in wing breading as directed on package.

  • Add to fryer once hot and flip once. Fry until golden brown. Time will depend on size. Check to make sure chicken is cooked throughout on largest piece. Place on paper towels to drain the excess grease.

  • Meanwhile, heat hot sauce, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and butter in sauce pan on medium heat.

  • Mix water and cornstarch and then add to hot sauce mixture to thicken sauce.

  • Toss chicken breasts in sauce.

  • Heat skillet to toast inside of buns. Spread butter on insides of buns while heating. Toast to your liking.

  • Assemble sandwiches and serve with ranch and lettuce or other toppings of choice.

Baking and cooking has long been a love of mine. There is something about sharing food I've created with my hands for those I love. It's a long language for me to get to host, feed, and partake with my friends and family. So, I hope you enjoy the recipes on our blog for your own family.
