Candy Canes + Christmas Joy: Peppermint Essential Oil

Our oil of the month is Peppermint and I want to share more details about this fantastic essential oil. It is truly one of my favorites all year round. As well as physical benefits, the emotional benefits are astounding.

We will be giving you fun, educational information about the benefits of the featured oil, how to diffuse the oil, diffuser blends, how to infuse it where applicable, recipes for food and fun bath and body products you can DIY all month long! This month the oil we are featuring, just happens to be my favorite: Peppermint! This oil is said to be the oil of a buoyant heart. It invigorates the mind, body, and spirit. "It reminds individuals that they don't have to be controlled by fear," according to ShareOils Blog. It lifts one out of emotional turmoil and lends to emotional reprieve. It acts as a flotation device and allows you to stay on the surface in an ocean of emotions. Peppermint can be used to help one rediscover the joy of being alive. Peppermint allows for a breath of fresh air.

Benefits:

Cools fatigued muscles after physical activity

Produces a focused environment when diffused

Provides a refreshing experience when mixed with your favorite shampoo or when applied to skin after a warm day in the sun

Creates an invigorating and refreshing experience when inhale

​Uses:

Diffuse Peppermint while working or around kids while doing their homework for an environment that is focused and energized.

Add Peppermint to hot bathwater and enjoy the revitalizing scent and soothing aromatic steam.

Inhale or apply it to your chest before and during a tough workout for a stimulating scent.

Apply it topically to fatigued areas following physical activity for a cooling sensation.

Environment to Diffuse:

Put focus first in study areas with this crisp, cool aroma.

Wake up shared family spaces first thing in the morning by infusing them with this icy scent.

Refresh your cool down space after a vigorous workout with its chilling fragrance.

4 drops Stress Awayā„¢ essential oil blend

3 drops Christmas Spiritā„¢ essential oil

3 drops Peppermint essential oil

Pick-Me-Up Blend:

4 drops Peppermint essential oil

6 drops Orange essential oil

Other Uses:

Use as bug repellent around windows & doors

Relieve tension by massaging into neck & shoulders

Use as cold water compress when feeling overheated

Incorporating It Regularly:

Use Peppermint Body Butter to moisturize skin while gaining the benefits

Use Peppermint Sugar or Coffee Scrub to exfoliate and invigorate skin

Add to water with orange essential oil to be refreshed and energized

When soaking in the tub, drop in a peppermint bath bomb to promote healthy respiratory and soothe muscles
