I’m a southern mama of 5. I believe stories are worth telling and joy can be found in any season no matter how bitter or how sweet. I'm a podcaster, blogger, and entrepreneur who loves doing life together!

A little dream that started in April is finally sitting on the Farmstand shelves.

When we first opened the Farmstand, I had this idea in the back of my mind: What if we could make fresh milled baking accessible to more families?

Because I know how easy it is to see someone baking with fresh milled flour and think, I would LOVE to do that… but where would I even start? How would I even have time?

There’s the mill.
The wheat berries.
The research.
The recipes.
The learning curve.

And as a mama of little ones, I know that sometimes even the things you really want to do can feel like one more thing to figure out.

So I wanted to create another way in.

Introducing the Mill to Table Collection — a collaboration with Home Slice, our local fresh milled flour and rcottage baker, created exclusively for the Grits, Grace & Granola Farmstand.

We’ve taken fresh milled flour and turned it into simple, approachable mixes that are ready for you to bring home and bake.

Seeing this line come to life feels like such a full-circle moment for me. I’ve been dreaming about it since we opened, and now it’s here—made possible through a collaboration between two local mama-owned businesses (who happened to be neighbors and didn’t know it) and created with the hope that more families can experience fresh milled baking without feeling overwhelmed by where to begin.

And this weekend, you can taste it before you bake it! We’ll have fresh muffin samples waiting for you under the Big Pink Tent. 🧁

Recently, someone asked if they could come photograph the behind-the-scenes of the Farmstand. As honored as I was, my answer surprised even me.

The more I thought about it, the more I realized the most beautiful parts of this place aren’t the ones a camera can capture.

I don’t think this Farmstand is mine.

It’s a vision the Lord placed on my heart, and I simply get to steward it.

Because the most beautiful parts of this place can’t be captured by a camera.

You can’t photograph answered prayers.

You can’t photograph the late-night planning sessions between vendors, the excitement over new menu ideas, or the countless hours that go into every loaf, every bar of soap, and baked good.

You can’t photograph the prayers that have been prayed over this stand before a single customer arrives.

Or the way complete strangers become friends.

Or the joy of seeing familiar faces walk up every Friday with their market bags, already knowing this place feels like home.

From where I stand, I get to witness something so much bigger than a Farmstand.

This is a community.

This is collaboration.

This is people using their gifts to serve one another.

This is God doing what only He can do.

Maybe that’s why I always say you have to experience Farmstand Friday.

Because the very best part isn’t what’s on the tables.

It’s what happens around them.

People have often been skeptical about how I’ve shared my life online over the years, but I can honestly tell you that when I started blogging over 16 years ago, I never could have imagined how this story would unfold—or how grateful I would be that I didn’t keep my life to myself.

While we live in a very digital world, most of my real-life friendships and meaningful relationships actually began with strangers who became friends… and eventually family.

Making friends as a full-time caregiver to my late husband—and now as a stay-at-home mom of five—hasn’t always been easy. But because of communities started in obedience to the Lord, I’ve experienced some of the deepest, most meaningful friendships of my life.

No matter which chapter of this story you’ve joined me in—those early days of ministry, Joel’s accident and our testimony, Extreme Home Makeover, Inside Edition, adoption, the farm, blending our family when I married Adam, birthing babies at home (or trying to! 😂), or now the Farmstand—I want you to know that it means so much to me that you’ve been here.

I try not to let fear or the state of the world distract me from what the Lord is doing because this little corner of the internet has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

To “my biggest fan”—otherwise known as Kellie—thank you for “convincing”your sweet husband to drive 352 miles to visit us and the Farmstand this weekend 😉

Thank you for watching this story unfold from Jacksonville, to both farms, to all the babies, and now to the big pink tent in our front yard.

Thank you for every encouraging message, every prayer, every comment, and every season you’ve faithfully cheered us on from afar.

You are a true friend, and I am so grateful to have you—even 5½ hours away.

The burden we carry isn’t easy, but I’m reminded that His burden is light and it was never mine to pick up.

My part in this is remaining faithful, to let Him fight for us. And to stay the course. Seek peace. And put on my armor daily.

And sometimes that looks like putting up a pretty pink tent and serving baked goods and being a good witness to the cup we are holding.

He will deliver us. He is who He says He is. He will do it. We believe for it!

This song shook me the other day as I was attending a therapy session for my kids. Right before we walked in I was in tears, hands held high and shouting at a red light that seemed to last forever. My kids witnessed their mom wrecked by the Gospel and pointing to the one who has us in His hands.

I hope this reminds you that He is in it with you, fighting for you and not ever against you, friend.

One of the questions I get asked the most is:
“Are you ever going to open a bakery?”

And honestly?

Not in my wildest dreams. 😂

Because that was never the vision.

A bakery often centers around one person’s talent, one person’s creations, and one person’s capacity.

But the Farmstand was never meant to be just my kitchen.

It was always meant to be a table where more people could gather.

I also get asked about doing more vendor events and pop-ups, and while I’m so grateful people want us there, I’ve realized that chasing every opportunity would pull me away from the very things I feel called to protect:
Being home with my husband and kids.
Creating when I feel led.
Building relationships.
Growing this community.

Because the truth is…

My food was never the main attraction here. 🤍

It’s the collective experience.

It’s the makers, bakers, and creators who each bring something special.

It’s community over competition.

Collaboration over comparison.

So in this next season, I’m taking a little bit of a backseat in baking and creating more space for our talented bakers and new makers to shine.

Don’t worry — your favorites from my kitchen aren’t going anywhere. 🤍

They’ll still be available through preorder, and extras will still make their way onto the stand.

But I’m choosing obedience over hustle.

Because before I am a business owner, I am a wife and a mom.

And I believe this is the next step God is calling me into.

The Farmstand was never meant to be something I could recreate somewhere else.

It isn’t just the stand.

It isn’t just the products.

It’s the people.

It’s the stories.

It’s all of us together.

So what’s next?

Not a bakery.

A bigger table. 🤍

More stories.
More makers.
More connection.
More joy.

They’re soft, buttery, drizzled with sweet vanilla icing, bursting with juicy blueberries or cinnamon… and honestly? They give major nostalgic vibes.

And if you remember Bojangles’ old cinnamon biscuits, just know that we understood the assignment. 🤍✨

Only difference?

✔️ They’re homemade.
✔️ I’ll happily add extra icing.
✔️ You don’t have to beg for it at the drive-thru. 😅

It’s far more than a $6 frozen lemonade. 🍋💛

Behind every cup are lessons I hope my children carry with them long after summer is over.

This year, I invested in a slushy machine for them to use at the Farmstand. Their job? To help pay it back. Not because I need the money, but because I want them to understand the value behind the things we own and the work it takes to earn them.

They’re learning about:
✨ entrepreneurship and taking initiative
✨ saving and investing
✨ customer service and communication
✨ cleanliness and food safety
✨ serving others with kindness
✨ showing up and working hard
✨ and the value of a dollar earned

Earlier this week, they got to spend some of the tip money they worked so hard for, each choosing something special that they wanted. Watching them make thoughtful decisions with money they earned themselves was one of my favorite moments of the week.

The truth is, I don’t think we’re raising future lemonade or maybe farmstand owners (although maybe we are 😉). I think we’re raising children who will one day be adults who understand responsibility, generosity, perseverance, and the joy that comes from meaningful work.

So thank you to every person who has stopped by, encouraged them, left a tip, or patiently waited while little hands learned how to do big things.

You’re helping us build something much sweeter than frozen lemonade. 🤍🍋

The other day a friend asked me why I decided to go back into physical products… and honestly, the answer surprised even me 🤍

This little farmstand wasn’t born out of extra time or boredom. It came during one of the fullest, hardest, most exhausting seasons of motherhood.

After years of pregnancies, breastfeeding, sleepless nights, survival mode, and pouring everything I had into my babies… I felt depleted.

Like the mama flamingo whose pink had faded from giving everything away in the best way to my babies🦩🌸

And then one morning, God planted this idea in my heart.

Not just a farmstand…
but a place for creativity, beauty, hospitality, homemade food, and COMMUNITY to come alive again.

A place where moms could make and bake from home without sacrificing their families in the process 🤍

And somehow… little by little… my pink started coming back too.

This farmstand has become so much more than bread and baked goods. It’s become a reminder that motherhood doesn’t mean the end of creativity, dreams, or purpose.

Sometimes it just looks different than before 🌿

I decided to stop putting pressure on myself to have the stand perfectly stocked the second we open.

Instead, I’m giving myself flexibility and guaranteeing preorder pickups within the hour of opening.

Because the reality is… I’m usually out there by myself in the early morning hours while my husband stays inside with the babies so they can keep sleeping while I work 🤍

And every single order has to be:
✨ packed
✨ labeled
✨ organized
✨ carried one-by-one from our basement kitchen to the stand

It’s a labor of love… but also a learning curve 😅

And honestly?
I think I’m probably the only one truly panicking about it 😂

I think most people understand this is real life, real families, and a real small business growing in real time.

Now I find joy in slower mornings, homemade bread, bike rides with my babies, flowers from the garden, meaningful conversations, and building a life that feels full—not just busy.

This season may not look glamorous by the world’s standards, but it feels rich in all the ways that matter most!

37 feels like learning that happiness isn’t always found in the big milestones…
Sometimes it’s found in sticky kitchen counters, late night laughter, watching birds on the porch, and the beautiful chaos of raising a family while still making room for your dreams.

I’m deeply grateful for every lesson, every hard season, every answered prayer, and every unexpected turn that brought me here 🌸

Here’s to living a little lighter.
