By now you're over Christmas but you might still have a hankering for a little something sweet. These wonderful cookies are a simple recipe that I hope becomes a staple in your home like it has mine.
I will be sharing recipes weekly on this blog- both from the app and from the ones we try and add to our faves. But, I will be sharing even more often in our fb group. Want our Cooking Club updates? Make sure and join our JPF Family Fb Group and subscribe to our blog below.
Nana's Molasses Cookies
This recipe is handed down from Joel's Nana. They are his favorite holiday cookie and have become Freddie's too. I love how moist and light they are and how everyone asks for one as soon as they get to my house.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Vegetable Oil
1/4 cup Molasses
1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
2 cups All Purpose Flour
2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Ginger
1/2 tsp Clove
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Sugar to coat before baking
(Sub Spices for Essential Oils: Use 1/2 drop ginger, 1/2 drop clove and 1 drop Cinnamon Bark)
Instructions:
1. Mix all wet ingredients.
2. Sift all dry ingredients.
3. Refrigerate overnight.
4. Roll in 1/2 Tbsp sized ball. Coat in sugar.
5. Bake on silicone mat for 7 minutes at 325 degrees. (Joel's Nana bakes hers at 350 for 10 minutes- so just know your oven.)
6. Cool on baking rack. Store in an air-tight container. Enjoy the holidays all year-round.
Happy Baking,
Lauren
